BTMHS Band Support Assocation (BSA)

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BSA

  • Supports the instrumental music program at Brick Township Memorial High School
  • Provides almost 75% of marching band operating budget
  • Each year, due to budget cuts, BSA is called on to provide more financial support the band programs, activities, scholarships, supplies and salaries for some of the instructors

Welcome!

On behalf of the executive board of the Band Parent Association (BSA), we would like to welcome and invite you to join our organization.

We exist to support the band program, the staff and most importantly the band members of the Brick Township Memorial High School Marching Mustangs. We strive to promote the development of a positive attitude and a sense of pride in the band among its members, staff, the student body and residents of Brick Township.

We meet monthly to discuss and plan ways to aid our marching band. We do this through our various committees. Through ways and means, we research and evaluate fundraising ideas.

The Publicity Committee provides various news media, and the general public with information pertaining to the high school marching band and its events.

A Yearbook Committee also maintains a photo record of most activities and functions for an official DVD. This association provides significant support for three major events. They are: The annual Outdoor Competition, the Indoor Competition, and the Gift Auction.

The Outdoor Show is a band competition, where our school invites bands from all over the state to perform on our field. Our BSA provides food for concession stand and for the judges, ticket sales, bake sale items, parking, decorations, programs, trophies, candy and air grams, and much more.

For the Indoor Show, we provide the same necessities, but it’s held indoors during the Winterguard season.

The Gift Auction is a very important event, as the funds generated are used for the senior awards and various band supplies.

We strongly encourage all families to register and become members. We would ask you to help in any ways that you can, perhaps in your area of expertise. We welcome, and value, all input for discussion, and recognize that all of our time is valuable and precious, and we’ll accept whatever you are able to give.

Just as our children play instruments individually, together they create and perform beautiful melodies. We must strive to lead and do the same.

Sincerely,
The Executive Board
